If you don’t like it, why buy it? This jacket is designed to give you a traditional biker look with all of the silver hardware, and big leather flaps, buckles, and so on. If the traditional look is what you are looking for, then you’ll definitely want to consider a Men’s Leather Motorcycle Jacket. (more…)

Mini Motorcycles

Throughout this article I’m going to go through all the major types of Mini Motorcycles, and give a brief idea or trait of each one. To begin we will start off with the “Pocket Bike”.

The Pocket Bike is cousins with the crotch rocket. These two Bikes are very similar in design and sleekness. When sitting on a Pocket Bike your body is bent over the bike making you and the bike as aerodynamic as possible. The Pocket Rocket is made for the streets, and can reach speeds as high as 60+mph.

Our next vehicle will be the Mopeds. Mopeds are great mini motorcycles for a number of reasons. Mopeds best trait have to be the fact that they can reach numbers as high as 100 miles per gallon. With such high mpg numbers, you can’t go wrong with a moped when your trying to save money on transportation. Not to mention you can get an electric moped and avoid fuel completely.

ATV’s are also under the category of Mini Motorcycles. These mini vehicles have an endless list of uses. With an ATV you have the best of both worlds. Whether your trail riding with your friends, or helping out around the house doing some yard work.

Mini Motorcycles are great for many different reasons. Whether you simply want to have some fun, save some gas money, or help do work around the house, Mini Motorcycles have it all. I myself have an ATV and a Moped, and i wouldn’t trade ether of them in for the world.

Four Things to Consider When Choosing a Motorcycle Parts Dealer

At some point, it is very likely that you will need to purchase parts for your motorcycle. Whether you need parts to maintain the performance, quality, and/or safety of your bike, or if it’s simply a case of wanting to buy an accessory to help personalize your motorcycle’s looks-it is important for you to find a trusted dealer with a wide range of products. There are a ton of parts dealers, and an internet search will give you plenty of options, perhaps too many options. Here are some questions you can look into when dealing with websites and dealerships:
Does the parts dealer also sell motorcycles?
A dealer that sells bikes in addition to parts will usually have a better understanding of customer needs in terms of parts and accessories. Also, these types of dealers usually have a wider range of products, are well-established, and have access to help for customers for installing parts.

Does the dealer or site offer bike-specific parts?
It is extremely helpful to locate a site or dealer that makes it easy to find and order the parts you need. Look for an online store that you can personalize to fit the type of bike that you own. If you can’t easily find the exact part that you are looking for, move on to the next site or store.

Can you easily contact/speak with the site or parts dealer?
Make sure there is a telephone number on the website, and use it for any questions you may have. If you have a disappointing experience (no answer, phone support not helpful, phone support not knowledgeable about the industry, they have many parts out of stock, or you are put on hold for an extended period), you may want to try the next store or site on your list. You need to be comfortable with the experiences and interactions that you have with your parts dealer.

Do they have a large selection of parts and accessories?
It is worthwhile to look through their parts and accessories selection. If you like working with the site or dealer, and they have a wide variety of available products, it might be more convenient to order parts from them in the future.

Asking these four questions before choosing a parts dealer/site will help protect you from dealing with a shady business, and provide you with a good shopping environment for all your motorcycle parts needs.

Pit Bike Modification Guide

Firstly these bikes have many restrictive components which mean that the pit bike can not perform at its best all the time. The most restrictive parts on these bikes are the carburettor and the manifold. A carb can be picked up for as little as £40-£50 which is a bargain for the potential power it could give you, and when you have purchased the carb it would be good to invest in a performance air filter, which allows more air to flow into the engine which equals more horsepower!

Next it would be an idea to change the exhaust to a performance exhaust, this combined with the carb and air filter will mean great power gains. Exhausts can be bought for around £50 off some websites but then again some of these exhausts retail at hundreds of pounds so be sure to shop around before making your purchase.

These two modifications will add low to mid range torque with a good benefit to the top end of the bike and a small increase in overall horsepower.

In a lot of pit bikes there is usually a restrictor in the CDI unit, these are often limited to around 8,500 rpm, if a performance CDI unit is purchased then this will be increased to 10,000 rpm meaning a smoother and more powerful acceleration curve and a higher peak meaning better top end as well.

Adjustments can be made to the gearing of the bike as well, in order for you to adjust this depending on the style of track you will be riding on. If you want to make adjustments to the gearing of the bike the best thing to do will be to change the sprockets. Standard sprockets are usually 14 tooth on the front, with a 37-40 tooth sprockets on the back.

Changing the front sprocket with a larger one will result in better top end, and a smaller rear sprocket will have the same effect, however acceleration will be lost when top end is gained and vice versa.
